Adult fun camp.

You wake up at one of the most beautiful, fun, desirable spots on earth. You play pickleball every day — real coaching, real progress, real games. You eat three meals with the same eleven people.

By day two it stops feeling like a vacation. It starts feeling like the best summer camp you could ever imagine.

With better food and wine at dinner.

The play.

Pickleball that gets gloriously competitive by the second morning — and the kind of play that’s got nothing to do with a paddle. Court at sunrise, water in the afternoon, nights that run long. You’ll forget what day it is, in the best way.

Woman lunging into a forehand at dusk on the Nawalli court
Woman walking onto the court in daylight
Man hitting a forehand under the court lights at night
Two players tapping paddles over the net
Group of six retreat guests smiling with their paddles
Wide view of the Nawalli courts under a pink sunset, mid-rally
Sunset over multiple courts with a ready-position player in the foreground
Woman hitting a forehand under a golden sunset
Spectators laughing and filming from the balcony above the courts

The people.

You arrive not knowing a soul and leave with a group chat that won’t quit. Coaches who actually fix your game. A founder couple who sweat every detail so you don’t. And a table of people who turn out to be, well, your people.

Portrait of Jorge Minikata Coach

Jorge Minikata

Playing competitive pickleball since the sport arrived in Mexico. Based at Nawalli Pickleball Club in Sayulita. Coaches with intensity — focused on mechanics, positioning, and winning habits.

Portrait of Alejo Desiderio Coach

Alejo Desiderio

Runner-up on the Mexican National Tour. Coaches soft, intentional, precise — with one rule on the court: no gambling with shots. Every ball matters. Argentine. Seven years in Sayulita.

Portrait of Tony & Jen Roberts Founders

Tony & Jen Roberts

Tony and Jen didn't move to Sayulita to start a pickleball company — they came to build a life, then couldn't stop inviting people into it. He'll fix your third-shot drop; Jen, a nervous-system coach, makes sure you leave lighter than you came.

The food.

Long, unhurried dinners and breakfasts worth flying for — eaten with the same crew night after night, until the table somehow becomes the best part of the day.

The adventure.

Some afternoons the paddle stays in the bag. Surf lessons in warm Pacific water, four-wheelers up into the hills, zip lines over the jungle, horseback on the beach as the sun drops into the ocean. The court’s the heart of it — not the whole of it.

The freedom.

No inbox. No carpool. No idea what day it is. For a few days the only things on your calendar are the next game and the next meal — which turns out to be the luxury you were actually after.

The memories.

Nobody comes home talking about the gear they bought. They talk about the week. Years from now, this is the trip that still comes up at dinner — the one you measure other vacations against.

The stories.

You’ll tell the one about the comeback nobody saw coming. The one about the horse that wouldn’t cooperate. The one about the dinner that ran till midnight. You came for a pickleball trip — you’ll leave with a year of material.

The unexpected.

Bonfires on the sand that go later than anyone planned. A cold plunge at Alchemize House that resets you to factory settings. The dinner conversation that turns into the reason you come back. The best parts were never on the itinerary.

A glimpse.

Four friends laughing on a boat
Group geared up for zip-lining through the jungle canopy
Three hikers with arms raised on a jungle trail
A woman at a bar with a golden retriever
Palm trees silhouetted at sunset
A golf cart on a Sayulita street under papel picado
A couple riding an ATV in helmets
A woman on a blanket watching the sunset
Ocean sunset over breaking waves

A note from Tony.

From the time I was 8 until I was 16, I spent every summer at Camp Jack Hazard — a high mountain camp the YMCA ran in the Sierra Nevadas. What started as a single ten-day session turned into multiple sessions a summer. Eventually whole summers as a leader in training.

One of my proudest accomplishments in life — and I mean it — is winning the Happy Camper award. Multiple times.

Every person who comes on a Pickleball Vacation & Getaway leaves with their own version of that award. That is the whole point.

We are dead serious about getting better at pickleball. We are equally serious about pickleball being for fun.

I want to share this adventure with as many people as humanly possible.

Come be a happy camper.

— Tony Roberts, Founder

P.S. Yes, the mustache is real.
